Like every other person who has access to the Internet, I think the election today is something worth blogging about. I’m going to say straight up that it makes me sad that after all the McCain has done for this country, he wasn’t considered to be the best possible candidate for the presidency. Obama lacks so many qualities that I think are important in a candidate, including experience, that I am worried about what is going to happen.
Everyone who says that people should stop complaining and saying they are going to leave the country or what not, should just be quiet because if McCain were elected, you would be saying the same. I have said this past week that if Obama were to be elected, I would highly consider moving to Ireland (mainly because I love Ireland). I do not think that I could ever leave America because a presidential candidate because they were elected fairly and that is what the majority of the people want. I may not be the majority, but not everyone can always win.
At this moment in time, I want to say goodbye to paying attention to the government, because I’m sure what ever they are going to do is just going to be annoying and focus on the global community. That isn’t possible for me for a few reasons, namely that I’m a political science major. It is important for people who are unhappy with the government to stay involved because there will never be change if people just quit and leave. The only way to truly impact the world is to stay and fight like hell.
